1972 GT-750 purchased 2 yr ago. It ran fine. A few months ago it began missing, running on two cylinders under more that moderate throttle. Seemed to be that the center cylinder was cutting out but not positive that it was only that one. By pulling 1/2 choke, it smoothed out and ran on all three. Have done or checked the following with no appreciable improvement: 1. Cleaned plugs (only about 200 mi. on them and they looked fine before cleaning. 2. Gapped and cleaned points. 3. Check for cracked and leaking rubber intake boots. Negative leaks. 4. Cleaned fuel cock and checked vacuum shut-off. 5. Cleaned carburators (jets etc. were clean) 6. replaced fuel and vacuum lines. Flow checked OK. Have not replaced points or retimed it. 7. Put in fresh gas. 8. Checked exhaust baffles. 9. Compression checks fine at about 23 to 24# all cylinders, hot and cold. Still won´t run on all three without half choke. Anyone have any thoughts on what to do next? Or what may be the problem? Thanks, Bob |
