I know the coils have been changed on my bike too. But I think the problem was related to the ignition leads, rather than the coil itself. Are there any noises from your engine? Restoring the engine is expensive, so unless it goes pop, or the performance gets very poor, I would just keep it. My bike has some km´s on its neck too, so I wonder how long I can keep it going before something happens. Speedo has been changed, so the precise mileage is unknown. I have some clicking noises at idle from my engine, and as a precausion I chekced the valve clearances. But they were ok. So I will just change the oil and filters and give the enigne a proper maintenance, and hope it will last for some more seasons. These bikes are becoming classics these days, and I intend to keep it. Do you have a blue or red one? |
