Brian, I bought a white one also (pearl actually) about a month ago (83 gsx750es). It is in near show room condition. I´m a second time biker...after a 25 year break from it (last bike was a new ´80 Kawasaki 750 LTD). Enough. If you type 1983 Suzuki GSX 750 ES into Google, you will find some information. I have had some electrical problems, but they seem to be on the mend. Had to install a voltage regulator (finally found a universal model for $15) and have had to come up with two batteries. So far, I get about 5 days out of a battery and then have to recharge or buy another. No matter. The bike is a keeper. I don´t know exactly what you want to know about the bike, but in a nutshell, I wanted a 2006 Harley Sportster. I saw the Suzuki for sale locally (for the price of a Sportster down payment) and bought it, thinking I might use it as a trade-in. After two days with the bike (hey, crotchrockets never appealed to me at all) I was a changed man. I plan to keep this bike running as long as I can because..... 1. It runs circles around the cruisers out there 2. It is lightweight; I don´t wrestle with it at stop lights 3. I like the forward riding position with my feet on the back pegs 4. The power....(84 hp)about 30 more horsepower than the new Triumph speedmaster I had considered buying (speedmaster? roadmaster? I´ve forgotten...not even interested in that anymore) 5. The speed again...140 mph on the speedo is staggering, but it certainly gets me around 18-wheelers in a flash with a twist of the wrist This bike also has more guages than my wife´s new Honda Accord. It has spoiled me. It is cool to look down and see what gear I´m in. If I were you, I´d fix it and hang on to it. I have received many approving looks from Harley riders who have seen me on it. I paid $1,000 for mine. I hope you get yours on the road. Mine may blow up tomorrow, but for now, I´m wild about it. Dan Evans zuma@wirelessfrontier.net .... |
