If you test out the side-stand switch on some Suzuki models, it sometimes appears not to work properly when testing the switch with a multi-meter set on the low OHMs resistance mode. Yet the switch still works proved when the stand is up you are able to start the engine. I may be wrong but the diode may be incorporated inside the side-stand switch. Might be a hidden Suzuki safety feature to prevent bodgers bypassing the switch by shorting the two switch wires together when a new switch is really needed. |
