I´m not sure if my bike is supposed to do this but when I first start my bike I throw the choke and it will slowly start to rev to 4000rpm and seems to help it warm up really quick. Mine is a 2001 not sure about any other models. I just got my bike in june ´06 and have only messed with it about 3 weeks since then when I get to go home.
