It´s not just the power. (Suzuki´s 175bhp at the crank is really only around 150 at the back wheel) The reason the bike looks the way it does is because it is aerodynamic. Speed and power follow a square law, so you need lot´s more power for a small gain in speed. The standard bike is restricted to 300kph/186mph but realistically won´t go much faster. Maybe 190mph. (I´m mean electronically timed speeds, not what the optimistic speedo says). To get 220mph you need at least 350bhp. Nearly double the power for another 30mph or so. That´s why Suzuki paid so much attention to the coefficient of drag for the Hayabusa and why different riders will get different top speeds depending on how small they can make themselves behind the fairing.
