hey, in all honesty, if i were you, i would go out and look on the internet or look in the local newspaper for a fairly old, im talking like 1992 old! 600CC bike, CBR600F2, F3... something that old... you could pick it up for 2K-4K and be happy for about 2 years and then maybe move up to like a 2001 GSXR600 or 750.
