A good bike for someone to start out with would be a bike easy enough to control, reliable, stable, and confortable. When I started out those were the questions that I was told to find the answer for. I came up with a 1990 Suzuki Katana 600. It is a very solid bike, has great power for freeway riding, light, responsive, and very user friendly.
