I just replaced mine on my recently purchased 82 model with the tscc engine. I ordered an aftermarket replacement and installed it in about 30 or 40 minutes. The old one broke because the swage end that the lever grips was not lubed enough and the flexing fatigued the strands of the cable. I have owned 13 bikes 5 of them various gs´s and my 750 is the best of the best as far as tractible power and handling. I do wish the fuel mileage was better though.
