1977 GS750 Vibration problem maybe transmission? |

I have a vibration that appeared out of the blue after a quick hot run through the gears up to 70mph.It was almost a buzz that is in the drive train. I have replaced all the obvious ie sprockets, chain, cush rubbers, inspected the clutch, nothing appears bad. There seams to be an excessive amount of backlash in the transmission output shaft in all the gears. The noise changes when sitting at idle and the clutch is operated in neutral. It is getting steadily worse. I am guessing splitting the cases is the next step but thought I would see if anyone has another opinion. Thanks for any help that is offered. |
