GS500 wont start

My 1995 Suzuki GS500E was running fine last week. When I went to start it yesterday it wont start. The lights turn on, the oil light comes on when I turn the key, but nothing happens when I push the starter button. It doesnt even attempt to turn over. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
