Per my factory manual for the ´80 GS450E/S models the hp for these motors is 42bhp@9000rpm and the L´s should be the same. With 15/45 gearing the acceleration was 0-60mph in under 7 sec. and under 14 sec. @ 90mph in the quarter mile. The L models´ OE gearing was 15/43. Many changed to 16/43 for more relaxed highway cruising.
