GS 1100 Starter??

I have a starter that came with my 1984 GS 1100. When I installed it the shaft was too short and it wouldn´t work. Now I´m wondering what year this starter fits. The part # is ND 31100-00A00. There is also a number under this one that is 128000-1320. Can anyone help me with what year(s) this starter will fit?
