The picture of the shown GS1000G is my bike, and I am suprised on how may sites have this picture, But I am ok with it. Since the picture was taken the rear shocks have been changed back to original type, and the mirrors have also been changed (old one´s knackered turning in at speed). I also have a slight dent in the tank and looking for a replacement of the off set filler type so I can repair and respray the original one. I need another tank as the bike is used for comuting as well as pleasure (any offers). For a twenty plus year old bike she is well behaved in the handeling department. I have just replaced the front fork seals and this has helped a lot. The exhaust system could do with being changed as its show signs of rotting through. I do have another in stainless steel, but it a home made job and not that pretty. The ignition has been replaced with a after market type as a second hand original was far to expesive (twice the price), and being twenty plus years old may not be realiable. The next job will be to sort out a slight oil leak on the base gasket and relap the valves in whilst I have the engine apart.Over all the bike is reasoably original looking (will try to keep it that way) and along with the shaftdrive in my opinion makes the bike better value than the Kawasaki version that go for twice the price. I only paid £1800 a year ago when the Kawasaki´s were going for £3,000 plus, but I do like the kawasaki style better, (I used to ride a Z650 twenty years ago).
I will be glad to help any one with information/advise with regards to the GS as I have built up a good data base of information based on Suzuki original documation. Also I may be intereasted in any spares and books/manuals with regards to the bike.
