78 GS 1000 looking to change to Electronic Ignition (´80 GS1000?

I am looking at upgrading my ´78 to electronic ignition.

1) Has anyone done this before? I heard that the 1980 GS 1000 is electronic and can be switched with the ´78.
2) Any idea where I can buy this part? (how much?)

Any help would be very appreciated.
