If it´s what i think it is then it should start and run fine in neutral. The same thing happened to me and it turns out it was the killswitch on the kickstand. We had to cut the killswitch out and connect the wires, this will complete the circuit and bypass the killswitch. Just be careful not to take off with the kickstand down.
