Check Oil light

07 suz.m50 I changed oil and filter. now I turn on key and check oil light is on .I used fram ph6018 filter and 115 oz/ 3400 ml of 10w40, just got bike don´t recall if the light and chec oil symbel came on before. but it goes off when I start engine is this normal?
