Aftermarket Exhaust - Cobra Dragster Shorts/Jet Com. III |

I just installed the Cobra Dragster Shorts and a Dynojet Commander III. I uploaded the MAP that closely resembled my setup, but it ran extremely rich. Its bad enough that the C90 only has the 3.7 gallon tank, my first tank of gas only took me 102 miles. With the stock setup I was getting between 40-47 MPG depeding on how I thriottled it. Took it to MGS Customs in Lancaster, CA to have it professionally dyno-tuned. What an incredible difference! It took about 2 hours to do the complete exhaust system swap and Jet Commander install. Hardest part was getting to the TPS wire. I velcroed the brain underneath the air cleaner as instructed, then I also plugged in the USB cable, put some dielectric grease around the plug, then ran the cable down to the Idle Control valve housing (the dummy air cleaner on the right side of the bike). That made it easy when I took the bike to have it dynoed. Just popped the cover, uncoiled the cableand plugged into their computer. I gained about 12 lbs of torque and the throttle response is quicker and more accurate to my hand. I drive Angeles Crest Highway 2-3 times a week, and it handles the mountain roads excellent. I only have two complaints about the bike. Obviously, the 3.7 gallon tank makes it a shame to call this a touring bike. Second is the cold start in the morning. The fast idle drops off too fast and the engine dies. I have to hold it open for about a minute at higher rpm to warm it up. |
