I have a bandit 400 91´,it´s a better bike than the GS 500. But I do not consider this a better beginner bike than Gs 500 or say the kawasaki ex 500.Reason is this, the power band on the bandit is harder to be smooth on the gas, you have to rev it to get good power. The other two bikes make power lower in there rev range and are easier to ride.If you can take a beginner motorcycle course first and get licensed then I would get the bandit but to learn on I would get one of the other two bikes they are both twin cylinder engines with good low end power the bandit is a four cylinder and makes power on the top end. Even though there is only about 50 hp the bandit can get you in trouble if your not carefull with the throttle when your at high rpm. That said what ever you choose make sure that bike is in good condition when you ride tires, brakes, chain etc. Get familiar by practicing with your ride so that know how it handles and accelerates under all conditions.Ride well, other bikes that might be good are honda hawks 450,650 these are older bikes. |
