I can´t say enough good things about my 2001 1200S as an all-around bike. I use it for daily commutes in the city and weekend long-distance trips. 60K plus on this bike. With a couple small accessories, it´s a really good sport-touring bike at half the price of an FJ1300 without all the ´GoldWing Light´ plastic. I´ve added a taller windscreen and Givi bags and I can ride it all day. But when I want to be a hooligan, NP. Off come the bags and it becomes one of the best drag-racers you´ve ever ridden. With all that torque, I can humiliate Porsche Turbos and Vettes with ease. Most so-called ´sportbikes´ too. Horsepower numbers are nice on the racetrack, but at real-world speeds, the Bandit will smoke ´em. My carburetted, air-cooled mill is great, I can´t imagine how much better the bike is with the new engine. Buy this bike - it´s exactly what you want. |
