Temp gauge on the ZX-9R will run about three notches while at cruising speeds (unless it is extremely hot out). While driving in town on a hot day, temp gauge could get up to 5 notches. Shortly after reaching this level, you should hear the fan kick on. It should drop the temp down a notch before shutting off.
