I did the same thing, it depends on if they let it sit too long. I would say at first I got ripped off, because they did not ride it for a year before I test drove it and eventually bought it, but after the saving on gas and the enjoyment. I would say I have not wasted my money yet, we will see if the bike starts up this year after I re-assemble it, then I will have an answer
