Time to restore? |

I bought my Zed 5 about 18 years ago. I enjoyed it hugely. It was my daily ride (along with a B44 BSA)and I had a few great tours around NZ where I live. After lending it to a friend it came back not running and I just parked it and that´s where it has been since about 1992. It has been mostly outside under a tarp for all that time and I live by the sea so you can imagine that it is looking a bit sad. Recently my 18 year old half brother hauled it out of storage and started looking at it. I have hung on to it for all this time because I had always considered it a minor classic but was never sure if it was worth the expense and effort of a rebuild. I wonder if some point has now been past where the Z500 is a classic worthy of restoration? With this new enthusiasm we might set to work on it but I have no idea about parts availability. What to you guys say? Is the Zed 5 worth the effort? |
