Owned a 440LTD a few years back. It was a nice bike, and extremely agile. I had little to no engine problems(a couple of minor seal problems to start, but it hadn´t been driven in several years).

I thoroughly enjoyed using the bike. It had a lot of snap for a small engine, and didn´t bog out too bad when you piled another person on back.

However, I have seen about 7 of these bikes since then, and all of them suffered from the same flaw. The starter doesn´t work properly. It seems to work quite randomly. In my bike we had the starter, and all sorrounding cogs replaced, and it still happened.

I know the other 6 I mentioned above also had this flaw. I never spoke with the owners afterwards to see if the issue was ever resolved, but I assume probably not.

So I am getting another one in few weeks. However this time, I am going with a kick-start model :-)


That´s my thoughts on the bike, take em or leave em.
