Engine Heats up!!

I have recently bought a Kawasaki 440(Cruiser) bike.The problem I am facing is that,the engine heats up and the bike refuses to start till it cools down.What is the reason for the same.Also there is a small oil leakage(recently noticed).

Please advice as i am keen on rectifying the problem ASAP.
