I own 3 1981 kawasakis. My 440 LTD is posted on this site & is belt drv. I have owned this bike since 1983, still ride it & have only replaced the belt once. Personaly I prefer belt over chain. My750LTD is chain & I like it too so it realy boils down to the care you give your bike when it comes to which is more lasting. I have owned a kawa. since I was 10yrs. old so I am a little partial to these bikes.
