Winterizing bikes ?

I am a new bike owner and am preparing the bike for the winter.I want to remove the battery and to do so must remove the seat.I have removed the bolt attaching the seat to the back bumper. Is the front of the seat bolted underneath, or should the seat just be able to be removed ? It appears to be secured at the front , but not sure how?
