Yes, the 500 Vulcan is a best buy. It does it all - and at a throwaway price. I mean what a deal: almost 50 hp, 33 lbs torque, counterbalanced, digital electronic ignition, liquid cooled, 6 speed, full flow oil filter, and DOHC 4 valve heads. I got mine because I didn´t want a two-wheeled car - you know an 800 behemoth. It´s actually not a small bike though - it weighs the same as my ´69 650 BSA did. It goes 60-70 all day and never seems to strain. It´s very strong running and also very reliable; I saw one the other day with 90,000 miles and the engine had never been opened up. Plus it will absolutely bury my friend´s 883 Sportster in a drag race, as well as any other 800 style cruiser. It will completely stomp a 650 Yamaha cruiser in a drag race, as well as the Honda 600VLX, plus it´s more confortable. It´s the best kept secret on the cruiser market.
