Hi Steph, I´ve thought about a gas gauge for my Vulcan 500 and have not found anything practical yet - nothing reasonably priced that I could justify. What I do is set the odometer and then fill it, and like you, about at 160 miles I switch to reserve (which has almost 1 gal). I actually let it start to die and then switch it. Then I know I have about 50 more miles. I went once 180 before going to reserve and then got another 50, so it does have a lot of range because it´s a 4 gal. tank and is very frugal. You´re right - it´s a great bike, especially at a time like this when we have $3 gal. gas. I got a pair of soft bags that work nicely for $150, which I can unzip and take in the house. Take care, Steve |
