Hi Sean, The break in process is an easy one. Basically just drive it reasonably for the first 500 miles and you won´t have anything to worry about. Then change oil at 500 miles. I did it that way with mine and there are no problems. Most people totally ignore the break in anyway, so you´re going to be better off. Just don´t rev it hard and go full blast for the first 500. You can go 50-55 in 6th and that will be fine. Vary your speed too, which helps the break in. Riding two-up is no problem. Remember if you were back in the 60s when I grew up, a 500 was a big bike and a 650 was huge. This is a hi tech 500 with 46 horses, same as my 650 Triumph. Plus you´ve got 6 gears, oil filter and liquid cooling. We had none of that back then. You could ride with two to Alaska and back and you´d be fine. Enjoy, Steve Ost, Pt. Orchard WA |
