I am in late 50´s Have not ridden for 20 years. I am pretty heavy (about 250lbs) Bought 2005 Vulcan 500 two months ago and absolutley LOVE it. Bike only weighs 440 lbs and is very comfortable. Plenty of power. Quiet (do not like loud pipes) and smooth. I could go up to the 800 but really like the fuel economy of the 500. I am computer tech and buy parts online all the time. Computer supply websites are very well organized and easy to navigate. We also have a site called Pricewatch which does just what it sounds like. You can search for parts by price from dozens of dealers. When I started searching online for motorcycle parts and accessories I was shocked at how really bad all the online motorcycle sites are. It seems that all the sites are created by the same webmaster and are extremely poorly organized and almost impossible to search. What is up with that. The best I have found so far is a site called Motorcycle Super Store. If these guys ship an orter within 3 or 4 days they think that is good. Most of my computer supply websites ship within 3 or 4 hours!! I ordered som saddlebag support brackets about six weeks ago and they haven´t shipped yet. When I called the dealer to cancel the order they assured me that the brackets had shipped from Europe and I would have them in a few days. That was more than two weeks ago. Also it seems the little Kawasaki Vulcan 500 is sort of not acknowledged as real motorcycle or something. Most sites it seems will only reckognize Vucan 800 or bigger. Whats up with that. Any advice on decent online motorcycle store would be appreciated. Best Regards Gman |
