Horex VR6 mechanically driven turbo charger. While the VR6 engine is an interesting idea, the Torotrac transmission used to drive the turbo charger could have an even greater impact in future motorcycle designs. The Torotrac transmission designs uses no gears, belts or chains. It has both underdrive and overdrive ratios. The ratio choices are infinite with reverse and neutral. In one design there isn´t even a clutch or torque converter. They are efficient. This type of technology could be the beginning of the end for stepped gears and clutch motorcycle transmissions. |
