Cathey, I´ve had my bike for 5 months now and I really like it. It handles really well, and like you said, it is a beautiful machine. I have 2 concerns about mine , however. The first thing I noticed when I pulled away from the dealership was that if I didn´t downshift when slowing down and reaccelerating, the engine would start bucking. In other words, you have to keep the revs up to get any torque. I traded in an ´06 500Lt Vulcan when I bought this one, and I´ll have to say it would run rings around the 900. I could slow down and reaccelerate without downshifting more than one gear. With the 900, I have to go down to 3rd or even 2nd to keep the engine from bucking. Another more aggravating problem I have is a loud siren-like whine in the engine or gears when accelerating, especially around 55-60 mph. It goes away when cruising, but comes back when decelerating. It is so loud that it almost drowns out the exhaust. Id like to know if anyone else has experienced these problems. Otherwise, it is an enjoyable bike to ride. |
