Hi, I´ve been shopping for my second bike. First bike is a great little 97 Shadow VLX that runs like a top. Want a bit bigger though. The Vulcan 900 looks mighty good with lots of new technology, etc. I just took a close look at one in a local delearship and found there is a surprising amount of parts looking like chrome that are actually chrome colored plastic. The wrap around the speedometer, some covers on the sides and what was really surprising was the cylinder head tops are PLASTIC!!! Does anyone have an educated opinion about that? I know it´s lighter and cheaper, but I´m concerned about how it will wear over the years under the sun not to mention the heat of the cylinders. the Suzuki M50 is the same way. Anyone know about the Yamaha V-Star? Webmaster: Great web site!!! Kent |
