Chrome? |

I´ve had my bike for over a week now, and although everything with the bike is great, I´m surprised to see so many “chrome” plastic cover pieces. I know that on more expensive and heavier bikes, these pieces are made of aluminum. I realize these plastic pieces are on the VN900 to keep the cost and weight down. I’m concerned about the long term reliability of the “chrome” plastic cover pieces on and around the bike’s engine (air filter case, cylinder head cover, engine covers, speedometer cover, reservoir tank cover, fender covers). Does anyone know about the long-term reliability of these pieces from other bikes? Do they get scratched easily or dinged from road debris? Do they hold their shine? What’s the best way to clean these pieces? Thanks for your insight, Jeff Smith |
