Gas tank size?

Bike reviews and articles say the Vulcan 900 has a 4.8-gallon tank. Kawi specs page says a 5.3-gallon tank. Which is right? Or are we talking US vs Imperial gallons? I´ve been turned off to most cruisers because of their low fuel range, but a 900cc bike with over 5 US gallons would be a possibility for me. Also: what octane is speced for this bike?

I won´t join now but I´ll keep this site bookmarked.
