Just some things to do or think about: I have a 2003 Mean Streak and it has 3500 miles on it. I have some noise but here is what I have learned. Double check your oil level and grade. Make sure of the grade of fuel and additives. I have to use premium in my horse, without it she hates me and life. Get a second opinion: all dealers are not equal and the newer motors are harder to get good techs for and on. Recent event with me was I asked a dealer about a valve adjust/check on mine, he said it costs about $370 and would take all day. The next dealer showed me in the KAW bood that you cannot adjust the valves period. Next thing is monitor the speed at which you change gears, the 1500 does not like to low rev in higher gears and it likes higher rev take offs. Hope I can help ya. DonĀ“t you just love the feel of that MeaN Streak on a winding road. Robert |
