BEAR WITH ME ON THIS, FIRST I WILL ATTEMPT TO QUALIFY MY COMMENTS..I HAVE OWNED 16 DIFFERENT MOTORCYCLES IN MY 56 YEARS ON THIS EARTH, BUT NONE OF THE FORMER BIKES EVEN COMPARE TO THE ENJOYMENT OF THIS VULCAN. THE POWER IS THERE ALL THE WAY FROM IDLE TO CRANK´N IT IN TOP GEAR. THERE IS ALMOST NO VIBRATION AT IDLE AND NO INTERIOR ENGINE NOISES.I FEEL THE FI VERSION IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO AS THERE IS NO RE=JETTING TO DO WHEN MODIFICATIONS ARE MADE. I SWITCHED TO THE VANCE AND HINES PIPES SO THE BIKE WOULD MAKE MORE NOISE. THE STOCK PIPES ARE INTEGRATED INTO A RESONATOR CHAMBER MOUNTED UNDER THE FRAME JUST AHEAD OF THE REAR WHEEL. NOT ONLY IS THE STOCK SYSTEM TOO QUIET, THE ASSEMBLY WEIGHS A TON: WITH THE BAFFLES REMOVED THE CUSTOM PIPES WILL DROWN OUT A TOP FUEL DRAGSTER. ON THE ROAD THIS BIKE WILL SCOOT ALONG AT 80-85 ALL DAY AND AIN´T "EVEN" STRAINED,UN-LIKE MY NOW DIVORCED TWIN CAM HARLEY. THE BRAKES ARE VERY GOOD AND AT 7000+ MILES ARE NOT SURGING AT ALL, AGAIN, UN-LIKE MY LAST HARLEY, IN FACT, THIS BIKE STILL RIDES LIKE NEW. THE VULCAN IS FAIRLY NIMBLE IN THE CURVES, BUT YOU MUST WATCH YOUR LEAN ANGLE AS THE FLOOR BOARDS WILL RAKE IN A STEEP TILT. THIS IS A HEAVY BIKE WEIGHING JUST A LITTLE LESS THAN A FULL GROWN HARLEY DRESSER, BUT IT DOESN´T FEEL HEAVY ON THE RIDE, YOU DO NOT FEEL EVERY CRACK IN THE SLAB AT SPEED. I LIVE IN LOUISIANA THIS PAST JULY THE BIKE AND I WERE IN COLORADO TAKING IN THE SCENES AND I REALIZED SOMETHING, THE POWER BAND OF THE MOTOR REMAINED THE SAME EVEN AT 11,000 FEET. I ATTRIBUTE THIS TO THE ELECTRONIC SELF-ADJUSTING FI SYSTEM.ALL IN ALL, FOR MONEY´S SAKE YOU CAN PROBABLY SPEND A LOT MORE MONEY FOR NOT MUCH MORE BIKE. I, FOR ONE, BOUGHT AN EXTREMELY WELL ENGINEERED, COMFORTABLE MOTORCYCLE,NOT A HIGHER PRICED, HIGH MAINTENANCE NAME. MY VULCAN CLASSIC FI IS "NOT" FOR SALE (UNLESS SOMEONE WANTS TO GET STUPID WITH THEIR MONEY)...
