From my experience,Bearo is misleading. 1. at a total of 380 lb., he and his girl are over the max. load of the vehicle (342), so it may not be safe. 2. I can´t figure out why he thinks you need to be in 6th gear to get to 50 mph. The whole point of having fun with a bike like this is revving it up. When I´m having fun (with no one around to think I´m an obnoxious motorcycle rider) I get to 60 (the speed limit (55)+5) in third gear. That´s about where it redlines. 3. if you don´t like shifting, you´re missing one of the fun things about riding. 4. My natural pick-up speed on this bike from a stop light is faster than virtually all drivers. If I tried I would probably beat them all, unless they were as stupid as me and made a drag race out of it. Bearo does have 70 lbs on me (I´m 155), but that should mean he might shift into higher gears later (not 6th gear to get to 50). The weight difference doesn´t explain why he thinks he needs to be in 6th to get to 50. It certainly isn´t because he followed the break-in rpms, because he couldn´t go 80. I must say the only time I rode 2-up (total of about 280 between us) I was surprised at how peppy it still was. |
