Thanks a lot for the help. Now, if I can find parts to restore it back to 100% reliable, I could start riding it daily before the snow flies. It´s been sitting in a barn for 20+ years so everything has been a fight. It runs now, I rode it about a mile and pushed it back home about 3/4 of a mile. Starter engaged while riding. Couldn´t get it to release at all. I pulled the chain and the small sprocket off the starter for now. Don´t know if starter suffered damage or not. The battery still spins it. Something in the flywheel hub had a very bad day. Thanks for any help and if anyone needs info from the owners manual, I can help. Dan.
