Hi, Robert. I just found this list. I also have a 79 KZ1000 LTD. I bought it in 1981, and it has about the same mileage as yours. I haven´t ridden it much, but intend to from now on.

These bikes are very cold-blooded. The owner´s manual says to warm up the bike for 5 minutes before riding it!

There is a choke lever on the lefthand side of the carbs. Lifting it up engages the \
