I HAVE A 70 KAW KZ1000LTD WITH SOME MODERATE MODS, AFTER GETTING THE ENGINE BACK FROM ABC RACING (CLYDE DAY) HAD COMPLETELY GONE THRU THE MOTOR TOP TO BOTTOM EVERYTHING IS NEW IT HAS A BIG BORE KIT WITH 10.75:1 COMPRESSION, ELECT IGN, DYNA S COILS, KERKER 4 INTO 1 HEADER AND A SHORT PIPE WITH NO BAFFLE, THE GEARS HAVE BEEN CUT AND THE CRANK WELDED. MY MACHINE SHOP (CLYDE) TOLD ME I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE CARBORATERS ON THE BIKE THE ARE MIKUNI SMOOTHE BORE 33´S. THE HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY REBUILT BUT IM HAVING NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH THEM. THE PROBLEM IS I KEEP GAS FOULING PLUGS AND CANNOT SEEM TO GET THEM IN SINC. I HAVE TRIED JETTING DOWN SEVERAL TIMES BUT NERVOUS TO GO ANY SMALLER IN JET SIZE IT. I CAN RIDE A COUPLE OF HUNDRED MILES AS LONG AS I DONT RUN REAL HARD ALTHOUGH EVERY START GETS HARDER AND HARDER TO GET RUNNING, BUT IF I GET ON IT HARD OFTEN WHILE RIDING ( AND THIS BIKE WILL SCREAM IT IS SCARY FAST) OFTEN TIMES IT WILL DIE DUE TO A GAS FOULED PLUG AND NOT RESTART I CAN PUT NEW PLUGS IN IT AND START RIGHT UP. THIS VERY EXPENSIVE HOBBY HAS MADE ME BEGIN TO LOSE INTEREST IN THE BIKE ALL TOGETHER BECAUSE I HAVE SPENT MORE THAN $3500 ON THE ENGINE AND STILL CANT RELY ON THE BIKE FOR ANY KIND OF EXTENDED RIDE I CANT TRUST TO TAKE IT ON A RIDE FOR FEAR WHEN I KILL IT I WONT GET IT STARTED (THE KICK START HAS BEN BLOCKED OFF AND I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO CARRY A TOOL BOX WITH ME AND HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT CHANGING PLUGS ALL THE TIME AND WORRYING ABOUT BATT LIFE REMAING TRYING TO RESTART. I AM RUNNING OUT OF PATIENCE BUT LOVE THE BIKE AND THE LOOK THAT I HAVE CREATED WITH THE THE DRAG STYLE BARS AND SUZUKI ALUM SWING ARM. ANY HELP FROM SOMEONE WITH MY SAME PASSION THAT KNOWS ABOUT THESE CARBS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS TAD BONNY FELLOW KZ ENTHUSIAST
