I just found what I think may be the answer to your problem maxxis makes a tire thats made for hard to intermediate terrain its called the maxxcross sx i´m about to get a set my self cause i ride on pavement a good bit and its eating my tires up too if you want i´ll let you know how they last once i get some riding in on em
