Trouble getting it started

Hey, Just bought a 05 KX 250 from a guy who use to race. I am having a heck of a time getting it to start. I kick and kick but nothing. I called him and he says it is because of the racing fuel in it. He told me to add more straight 92 oct. gas and I will have a much easier time. (when we checked it out, he kicked it and fired right up. sounds good and ran great.) Once we get it going the bike is great and easier to start. Ever heard of this before and do you think it could be something other than fuel???
