Question for starter gear and cam chain

Question for starter gear and cam chain

Starter gear is chewed up on the back side by a chain that is in between the main cam chain on my 1986 KLR 600. Is there an parts manual to help me work on my bike? P.S. I love the bike and want to restore it. It only has 4,500 miles on it.
