Yes, definetly.
You will be able to use it for ALL that you want. Don´t let the fact that it´s 500 and is not sports take the wrong impression.I have one, and meet frequently with ninjas and CBR´s and except on motorway (speed and aerodinamics), on curvy roads it´s very agile and fast.
You can use it as city and off-road bike also.
Everybody who has or knows somebody having one will say the same: it´s a very impresive, configurable and neat bike ideal to keep it long and decide which bike type will be your next 800 or 1000 cm3 bike, as from it you can go to category of touring, superSports bikes, custom or off-road (and buy a car to tow it) bike types.
I really recomend it, as a friend did it to me when I had a NSR125.
