I have recently purchased an 81 GPZ550D1, I first had one back in 83 and loved every minute on it, so I thought I would have another.
Ok so its 29 years old but it still rides well for an old machine.
The problem I have is that the tank is not bolted to anything, which is little worrying. The mounting lug at the rear of the tank is just sat in space and I cant remember where it should bolt to.
It is also missing the airbox, which I think is better than the KnN type filters it has on at the moment.
Can anyone help please and tell me where or what the tank should bolt to.

ps If I can have a picture of your mounting point that would be great..
