Hi, guys; recently bought a cherry EN 500 with 2100 miles and would like to join a forum on this great bike. Use it for commuting and medium range ( 200-300 mile) travel; so far, so good. The single flaw I noticed was the soft front brake; the problem is a long (44 Inch) rubber line to the caliper; went to the bike store and bought a steel braided line and two banjo terminals; holy Lever, Batman! The brake is now super firm (one finger) and easy to modulate with sintered brake pads. Total cost, $40.- in parts plus DOT 3 brake fluid which I wanted to flush anyway. Should try it. Added a voltmeter to the dash, but the engine needs a tachometer; does anybody know of an aftermarket or used tach that will work in it? Everybody says theirs will work, but there is no return on electrical parts, so I would like to hear from a first-hand experience. Any help will be veeery appreciated. Safe riding, Alex the Frog |
