My new 2009 Kawi Eliminator test run

Well I bought this Eliminator because it was dirt cheap and it looks great. For the price you can either buy a new scooter or this bike. It gets 95 mpg but haven´t checked it yet. I have owned it for a total of 4 days now. I have 100 miles on it. The problem you will find right off the bat is the breakin period. These bikes are supposed to go 65 max speed on flat land. Can you believe the breakin warning sticker says to go no faster than 26MPH in 5th gear for the 1st - 500mi....then up to 39MPH until the bike has 1000mi. That´s crazy. So I drive it up to 40MPH but thats it! I am patiently waiting for 1000mi...so 900mi still to go! This bike is slow, so no highways really. I think 60MPH will probably be the realistic top speed. If you want a bike for the freeways, you will need to move up to the Ninja 250, or Suzuki GZ250...Yamaha has one too. Anyway, it is what it is. Don´t expect more than a good looking city or backroads cruiser that will slow down significantly on hills....to the point where you may have to pull over to let traffic by. Just remember what you paid for it...and it was either this or a scooter!! Enjoy it! I´ll post another message later after reaching 1000mi...so I can finally max it out to see what the speed is. Cheers!
