They were all 5 speed. Mine was slightly modified with chambers and carb jetting. The redline moved from 7,500 rpm to over 10,000 rpm. It would run over 115 mph in third gear. The 4th nd 5th gears were scary. I took a tooth off the counter shaft sprocket to develop the hole shot. Yeah! Like it really needed that. You couldnĀ“t put the left foot peg down until after you got into 2nd gear. You had to shift so soon out of the hole, the peg would get in the way. I would come out 7,000 rpm, dump the clutch and let the back tire spin through 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear, all the way through the quarter mile. It was the only way to hold the front end down. Over 100 mph, with the front end off the ground and continous rear tire spin. What a thrill!!!!!
